It’s been a struggle to stay physically fit during the pandemic. A lot of factors contributed to the lack of motivation. For others, it’s adjusting to their new work setup at home, while for many, there is the anxiety brought on by the uncertainties we experienced.
Two years since the start of the pandemic, it’s time to start looking to the future again. And part of it is either accepting your new body or working on shedding that extra weight you gained during quarantine. If you have been meaning to lose weight, here’s how to do it safely:
Be more mindful of what you eat
One of the biggest hurdles when losing weight is the actual food you consume. Fast and easy options such as junk food you can get delivered within minutes are so tempting, but they are never good for your body. Now before you think you have to make all your meals yourself just to lose weight, know that there is a diet plan for weight loss that you can get delivered to your doorstep, offering the same ease as junk food delivery. Simply shifting to this food option can already kick-start your weight loss plan.
Eat in smaller portions
Many diet plans often suggest that you limit your food intake, but they can sometimes be unhealthy in the way they limit the nutrients you get from each meal. It is safer to lose weight by eating in smaller portions whilst still keeping a balanced diet. Whenever you feel peckish, go ahead and eat a small portion, and stop before you feel overwhelmingly full. Drink lots of water too.
Be cautious of sugar in your drinks
Plain water is recommended to quench thirst. Anything else, even if they are labeled healthy, could have some additional sugars that sneak into your diet. You could be eating a healthy amount of solid foods, but the liquids you consume might be the ones preventing weight loss.
Forget the idea that a diet should be restrictive. It should be something you can easily follow and still enjoy while waiting for the results to show.
